Disability Services & Legal Center seeking Assistive Technology /Housing Access Modifications Coordinator for Full Time Employment with Benefits
Housing Access Modifications (HAM) Program:
Locally funded program, helps seniors, veterans and people with disabilities gain, maintain access to their homes that would otherwise be lost due to the hardship associated with a disability.
-Be able to process forms and conduct in-home assessments for HAM consumers.
-Prepare scope of work and administer bid approval process.
Assistive Technology Program:
Dedicated to expanding the accessibility of tools, resources and technology that help increase independence, improve personal productivity and enhance the quality of life for seniors, veterans and people with disabilities.
-Provide Information & Referral and technical assistance to individuals regarding adaptive equipment.
-Assist in the annual Tech Expo, which brings together exhibitors, consumers, resources and all current technology.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity toward persons with disabilities.
- Knowledge of word processing and databases.
- Ability to keep and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to supervise contract workers and others as needed.
- Great organizational skills
- Must have some knowledge of adaptive equipment and assistive technology issues
- Experience as a disability rights advocate.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish or American Sign Language.
