Native American Independent Living Demonstration Project (NAILDP)

Disability Services and Legal Center (DSLC) has been chosen by the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services to establish a Native American Independent Living Demonstration Project. Through this three year project, DSLC will seek to learn from our area’s Tribal Communities as to how best understand and address the needs of tribal members with disabilities.

DSLC has offices in Santa Rosa, Napa & Ukiah and will reach out to Tribal Communities in Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino and Lake Counties for guidance as well as participation in this important endeavor.

The main objective of DSLC and this project is to develop a successful model of service to Native Americans with Disabilities that can be duplicated throughout the nation, thereby expanding and improving services to this historically undeserved population.
